SOMIZI MHLONGO, DINEO RANAKA & KHANYI MBAU TO HAUL “SUSHI KING” KENNY KUNENE OVER THE COALS IN

Comedy Central is stoking the furnaces for “The Comedy Central Roast of KK Fired up by Nando’s” with the scorching revelation that the Roasters for the extra hot comedy special will include flamboyant socialite and World Cup choreographer, Somizi Mhlongo, TV presenter Dineo Ranaka, and actress and tabloid queen Khanyi Mbau.

The Comedy Central Roast of Kenny Kunene Fired up by Nando’s” takes place on 3 April 2014 at the Lyric Theatre, Gold Reef City, Johannesburg, and premieres exclusively on Comedy Central (DStv Channel 122) on Monday 28 April at 21:00 CAT.

The long-awaited sequel to the 2012 “The Comedy Central Roast of Steve Hofmeyr” stars larger-than-life entrepreneur, politician, party starter, reality show star and “Sushi King”, Kenny Kunene, while the official “Roastmaster” is Jimmy Carr – the infamously acerbic stand-up comic, TV presenter, author and “comedy hero for our times”.

The names of the remaining six Roasters will be revealed later in March.

Commented Evert van der Veer, Head of Comedy Central, “I hope Kenny’s got his body armour ordered because he is going to have his work cut out fending off the verbal slings and arrows from this Roasting panel.  All of our Roasters have been picked for their ability to deliver a searing blow with just a few choice words, and brand the Roastee with a finely crafted insult.”

Speaking about his involvement in the Roast, Somizi Mhlongo said,I have got nothing but lurrv for the ex-con!”, while Dineo Ranaka showed signs of partiality for Roastee Kunene, saying, “Ag geez, Kenny!!!  He is a rock star!” Slightly mystifyingly, Khanyi Mbau stated, “Sometimes good doesn’t need to be good. Sometimes bad is the good!”

Replied Kenny Kunene, “What a fabulous bunch of drama queens!  I have mad love for all of them, but we’ll see who’s really gonna get roasted!”
