L’ORÉAL PARIS LAUNCHES ITS SIGNATURE PHILANTHROPY PROGRAMME WOMEN OF WORTH IN SOUTH AFRICA TO HONOUR EXTRAORDINARY WOMEN DEDICATED TO SERVING THE NEEDS OF OTHERS

L’Oréal Paris launched its Women of Worth Programme in South Africa and issued a call for nominations to recognise inspiring women who are making a difference in communities across the country. Women of Worth embodies L’Oréal Paris’ iconic brand philosophy “Because We’re Worth It” and demonstrates the powerful connection between giving back and igniting a sense of self-worth.

The Women of Worth Programme has been running in the US for more than 10 years where it has empowered and honoured 100 incredible women who are tackling some of society’s most pressing issues, transforming tens of thousands of lives.

“It’s important to extend the Women of Worth Programme to this country to honour South African women who are selflessly and tirelessly giving of themselves to serve their communities. We want to honour these exceptional women and give them a national platform to raise awareness for their important causes and the organisations they support,” says Dave Hughes, General Manager, L’Oréal Consumer Products Division. In the US some of the Women of Worth honourees have received further accolades from government and the media, authoring books, impacting legislation and expanding support for the causes they serve.

The launch of the Women of Worth Programme was attended by leading South African thought leaders, artists, philanthropists, executives, media personalities and key influencers. Basetsana Kumalo, Leanne Manas, Leanne Dlamini, Allegro Dinkwanyane and Advocate Amelia Rawhani who are all powerful and inspirational South African women spoke about their own philanthropy work and why they find it important to help others.

L’Oreal Paris partnered with Ndalo Media as key media partner in order to launch this campaign in South Africa. On the partnership, Founder & CEO of Ndalo Media Khanyi Dhlomo says, “We are proud to be the official media partners of a credible, compelling and impactful campaign which highlights the importance of being of service and as a result, playing your part towards nation building. It also speaks to the importance of how when women believe that they are worth it, they fulfill their destinies in a beautiful and powerful way and as a result, inspire other women to do the same.”
