Doritos recently launches two new flavours in the “Battle of the Bold” and R20 000 up for grabs to the boldest fan
Doritos, the corn chip snack with bold flavours is launching two new intense flavours into the South African market and consumers will have the opportunity to boldly defend their flavour of choice, and one flavour will remain in the range.
Doritos A: Tomato Sizzler and Doritos B: Jalapeño Poppers
So how far will they go to defend their favourite flavour?
South African consumers will get the opportunity to boldly pledge allegiance to one new Doritos flavour by completing a variety of challenges. Successfully completed challenges will earn points for both the contestant and the Doritos flavour they pledge allegiance to and the boldest fan wins a R20 000.
“Doritos is a category market leader and well known for innovative and engaging social campaigns that allow for co-creation with consumers. This year Doritos has decided to partner with the Gola camp to rev up the Battle of the Bold campaign on our journey to the best flavour and rewarding the boldest fan for their participation. The campaign will seek to highlight the daily choices millennials have to make, only through a humorous and light-hearted lens providing the platform to let them bring out their inner bold,” says Kudzayi Lorraine Kanyama, Doritos South Africa Assistant Brand Manager.
With a history of friendly sibling rivalry fuelling the comedic duo’s relationship, our bold team captains Loyiso and Lazola Gola will pledge their allegiance to a flavour and steer a series of challenges to inspire entries – Lazola for Tomato Sizzler and Loyiso for Jalapeño Poppers.
The challenges which fans are encouraged to demonstrate to defend their favourite flavour, while scoring points based on the level of boldness, range from edgy to outrageous. Online leader boards hosted on the Doritos Facebook page will enable fans to stay on the pulse of how their favourite Doritos flavour is tracking, with a corresponding leader board for the boldest fans illustrating their challenge rankings. With the inspiration of the Gola brothers, fans are encouraged to sample the two flavours and start getting behind the flavour they will defend in the Doritos Battle of the Bold competition between June and mid-August 2017.
The new packs are available now in store and “we have no doubt that our consumers are going to get a thrill supporting their flavour to aid us in making a decision between Tomato Sizzler and Jalapeño Poppers. Excited to see how far they would go to defend their favourite flavour,” concludes Kanyama.
