UNJANI CLINIC NURSES AT THE BABY MEET UP THIS WEEKEND

by

“On the 29th September 2018 – The JOHNSON’S Baby Healthy Skin Project invited a few Unjani Clinic nurses and their patients to the Baby Meet Up with Meg Faure at the Kyalami International Conference Centre. The women were treated to a lovely baby show hosted by Cape Town based blogger Meg Faure and also got the opportunity to walk around the different stalls on display. During lunch the ladies then engaged in a round table discussion about what they learned/experienced

The ladies began their day with the Pregnancy Sense session where they learned about preparing for birth, breastfeeding and the first day. Simphiwe Mthethwa (Patient from the Unjani Clinic Olievenhoutbos) found this session very educational as she is currently in her last trimester. Dr Tom Makaya spoke about preparing for birth and choosing the right method for you and your baby. “S.A currently has 65% netural birth rate”- DR T. Makaya. The beautiful Letshego Zulu also spoke about the importance of staying fit during and after your pregnancy.

After lunch the ladies then attended another session with Meg Faure and more expects. Standing out from this session was the talk about fatherhood and how important it is for men to be more involved in their children’s lives. “I had to ask myself if I was the man my daughter and son needed me to be. I realized their hearts were in my hands” – Craig Wilkinson
