FLIGHTS, CHOCOLATES, ROAD TRIP & LOCAL SPOILS ON V’DAY

by

Proudly South African took their love for our country and its economy to another level when they held a Fashion show in The Sky with Lift. On the 09:30 flight from Johannesburg to Cape Town, unsuspecting passengers were welcomed with roses, Nestlé Kit Kat, and a surprise fashion show.

The morning flight saw brands such as MAXHOSA, Koop Studio, and Scalo who showcased their beautiful local garments. Koop Studio showcased her luxury sleepwear, and MAXHOSA presented its modern classy knitwear captivating passengers. It was all ohing and ahhing when Scalo’s elegant red-carpet ensemble embraced the aisle.

Valentine’s Day didn’t only end with a fashion show 36 000ft in the sky but also featured a road trip with Mercedes Benz SA in their locally manufactured automobile enroute to the Atlantis where we were met with locally manufactured goods by Hisense.

The factory tour visit showcased the production line of how their household appliances are beautifully created while demonstrating the jobs created by the local plant.

Chief Marketing Officer at Proudly South African Happy MaKhumalo Ngidi commented, “Maybe, this year we could do things differently by deciding to romance our economy to create a meaningful day and month. By actively seeking and supporting locally manufactured goods and services, we have taken a step further in positively contributing to the economy and created an environment that benefits our loved ones immensely as we will witness unemployment declining. Whichever part of the country you are in, we are asking you to join us as we spoil the most deserving valentine – our economy, because supporting local businesses helps create jobs and secures the future of our homes and most importantly our children’.

The evening flight at 19:00 will also see local fashion designers parading their designs, the brands are Biji La Maison offering fabulous designs for special occasions, Plus Fab which is geared towards modern-day plus-size women, and Ezokhetho created to reflect African luxury.

We are hoping that this groundbreaking spectacle and showcase of the CTFL sector in an aeroplane will be an experience that will linger on for the longest time in the traveller’s mind, those who were fortunate enough to have booked their seats on these particular flights to CPT and back. It is one of a kind experience which comes in handy for Proudly SA in our efforts to ensure that the Buy Local movement remains relevant, relatable, fun and truly emphasizes that buying and supporting locally manufactured goods and services to create jobs is a lifestyle!

“Valentine’s Day is the perfect opportunity to express love to local businesses that keep our economy going. Remember, buying local is not just a purchase; it’s an investment in our economy and community,” concluded Ngidi.

We hope everyone had a great Valentine’s Day and showed love for the country by buying and supporting local. Valentine’s Day is brought to you by Proudly South African, Lift Airline, Nestlé Kit Kat, Mercedes Benz SA and Hisense.
