From Friday 25 to Sunday 27 July, the “Say I Do” Expo returns with even more flair, fashion and festivity. Following a successful debut in 2024, this year’s expo promises to be bigger, bolder and even more beautifully curated, offering brides, grooms and their entourages a full bouquet of wedding inspiration and experiences.
A Must-see for the soon-to-be-wed
Stretching across both the ground and first floors of the mall, this three-day affair will feature over 100 exhibitors covering every aspect of the wedding journey. From florists and venues to décor specialists, bridal designers, tailors, makeup artists and legal experts, the full wedding planning spectrum will be represented. Selected Menlyn stores will also showcase on-trend offerings, with popular stores like Dis-Chem activating special touchpoints around the centre.
For those looking to immerse themselves in this world of tulle, tuxedos and table settings, Menlyn’s vibrant Wedding Trend Pods will be back for two weeks. Each pod will bring to life a different wedding theme, complete with dresses, suits, floral arrangements and decor details that make each one pop. They’re not just photogenic – they’re pure aisle-style inspiration.
Fashion, flair and fabulous giveaways
One of the weekend’s highlights will be the Menlyn Sky Fashion Experience. Across the two main days of the expo (Saturday and Sunday), visitors can enjoy a series of curated runway shows featuring looks for brides, grooms, bridesmaids, flower girls and mothers of the bride. Whether you’re looking for sleek sophistication or full-on fantasy, the catwalks will deliver.
The “Say I Do” Expo is free to attend, but for those wanting the full experience, shoppers looking to take their planning up a notch can register for the VIP Package at R150. This gives you entry into a range of premium competitions, including the chance to win either a traditional or white wedding valued at over R200,000 each. Several vendors are also offering giveaways of their wedding goods and services, making the VIP registration well worth it for those hoping to walk away with more than memories and inspiration.
Live entertainment will fill the air as popular live musicians, many of whom offer their services for weddings, take to performance spots across the centre throughout the weekend. It’s a showcase with vibe and harmony.
More than just window shopping
Menlyn is also introducing the “Rent a Hanger” concept for brides looking to pass on the love. A dedicated store will be set up where women can sell their pre-loved gowns. Mannequins displayed in the common area will show off some of these once-worn wonders, giving new brides the chance to find their dream dress with a little extra story behind it.
Wedding Masterclasses will complete the experience, with expert-led sessions covering topics from nutrition and skincare to the legal elements of tying the knot. Whether you’re at the Pinterest stage or finalising your guest list, there’ll be guidance, tips and plenty of food for thought.
