Following the sell-out success of its debut, Secret Cinema by SecretEATS returns to Johannesburg this Spring, offering audiences not one, but three exclusive opportunities to take part in the next instalment of this unique cinematic experience. With two evening shows and a new matinee option, this next chapter promises a refined affair, steeped in secrets, subtlety and stately intrigue.
A final chapter calls
This edition of Secret Cinema draws inspiration from a world where titles are inherited, family names carry weight and the drama plays out across polished floors and manicured lawns. Guests are invited to gather one last time for a private preview of a soon-to-be-released film that continues a globally adored saga, set once again amidst the traditions, tensions and tea rituals of an English estate. While the film’s name remains confidential, those familiar with silver service and storylines served with scandal, may already suspect what lies ahead.
Tea, titles and timeless elegance
The experience begins with a High Tea-inspired canapé and cocktail reception that nods to the rituals of aristocratic living. Guests can expect delicacies with a sense of occasion and drinks that would not be out of place in the cellars of a great house. From first sip to final toast, this prelude is designed to prepare guests for a farewell unlike any other.
After refreshments, attendees will be led into a private cinema hidden within the city, where they will enjoy an exclusive pre-release screening of a long-awaited final chapter. The venue, like the story, is a carefully guarded secret. Ticket holders will receive their instructions, location and pass phrase on the day of the event.
Three performances only
To meet growing demand, this edition of Secret Cinema will be presented across three performances in Johannesburg. While the details remain shrouded in secrecy, the format remains familiar: each show includes a themed dining experience, in this case a cocktail, High Tea-style canapés, soft drinks, popcorn and a few unexpected moments along the way. All dietary requirements are catered for and non-alcoholic options are available.
Guests are encouraged to dress in keeping with the occasion, whether that means donning a coat and tie or arriving in pearls and a fascinator. The tone is one of quiet ceremony, with just a hint of theatre. As always, seats are limited and early booking is advised.
