031CHOPPS, SHAKES & LES AND ZEE NXUMALO RELEASE MUSIS VIDEO

by

Malunde, the December smash hit from 031Choppa, Shakes & Les and Zee Nxumalo, featuring Springle, has been lighting up dance floors, playlists and TikTok since its release.

Now, fans can finally experience the long-awaited music video, a vibrant visual that captures the song’s infectious groove and celebrates South Africa’s nightlife culture.

Inspired by the artists’ own experiences in the nightlife scene and the radiant energy of women who shape it, Malunde is a raw, unfiltered ode to the country’s groove life.

A Visual Journey Through the Groove
The Malunde video transports viewers from the lively township streets of Soweto – grounding the story in authentic, lived experiences – to the electric pulse of Jozi CBD, where “groovists” unite in a shared celebration of music and life.

Directed by Young Matee and his team, known for their creative openness paired with time-conscious professionalism, the shoot offered fresh perspectives while keeping a tight production pace. “Working with them is refreshing,” the artists shared. “They’re always open to trying new things, but they don’t play when it comes to wasting time.”

Special Cameos & Cinematic Moments
Fans will spot a standout cameo from beloved comedian Malume Lolo, appearing as a news reporter in the storyline. An unexpected weather shift during the Jozi rooftop scenes added an unplanned cinematic touch – a cold but stunning moment that felt straight out of a movie.

From Viral Hit to Visual Storytelling
“This is our hit song,” the team says. “It’s gone viral on TikTok and continues to perform well across all digital platforms. The studio camp where we created it was full of vibes and liquor – artists were creatively off balance and the energy felt like groove itself.”

The decision to drop the music video now was intentional – a clear window after the December wave of releases, allowing Malunde’s visual to have its own spotlight. Even before release, the video’s buzz has been building, adding to the excitement.

Acknowledgements
Special thanks go to SLB Entertainment and Rap Academy for organising the studio camp, as well as the artists, management team, stylist, makeup artist and dancers who brought the vision to life. Additional shoutouts to Matee, Kokota Afrika and everyone who came to support.

What’s Next
Fans can look forward to a Malunde tour, alongside a collaborative EP and more singles set to drop soon. The team hopes the video gives audiences “a clear picture of how the song came about and what it means from the storyline.”
