DISNEY+ KICKS OFF A MUST-WATCH SPRING OF HIGHLY ANTICIPATED TV SERIES & MOVIES

Disney+ confirmed its spring line-up in South Africa, giving customers unmissable entertainment with highly anticipated TV series, returning fan favourites and brand-new moviesl. This follows recent launches including FX’s acclaimed sci-fi drama “Alien: Earth”, season five of the award-winning comedy series “Only Murders in the Building”, Disney’s box office smash “Lilo & Stitch”, and Marvel Studios’ action-packed “Thunderbolts*”, with even more to watch and enjoy on Disney+.

Customers can look forward to Original Ryan Murphy legal drama “All’s Fair”, starring Kim Kardashian, Naomi Watts, Niecy Nash-Betts, Teyana Taylor, Matthew Noszka, with Sarah Paulson and Glenn Close, which follows a powerhouse team of female divorce attorneys taking on high-stakes breakups, scandalous secrets and shifting allegiances in and out of the courtroom. The highly anticipated return of “Percy Jackson and The Olympians” takes fans on a thrilling new quest as Percy and his friend’s journey into the Sea of Monsters to find the Golden Fleece, the only thing that can save Camp Half-Blood. 

Also premiering this spring are the UK Original documentary “Caroline Flack: Search for the Truth”; comedy series “Chad Powers”, co-created, co-written, executive produced by and starring Glen Powell; the second season of “High Potential”, starring Kaitlin Olson; season three of reality hit “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives”; 20th Century Studios’ new feature film “Swiped”; Disney and Pixar’s animated adventure “Elio”; and much more.

LOCAL ORIGINAL PRODUCTIONS

Joining the UK Original slate this spring is two-part docuseries, “Caroline Flack: Search for the Truth” (streaming this spring), which celebrates the life and career of one of the UK’s most popular TV presenters. The documentary follows Christine, Caroline’s mother, as she seeks to understand the events in the final months of her daughter’s life. 

With exclusive access to two of the biggest brands in the world, “Sneaker Wars: Adidas V. Puma”, (24 September) is a three-part docuseries that offers an unprecedented, behind-the-scenes look into the fierce, decades-long rivalry between two global sportswear giants, born from a family feud.

Across Europe, local Original series continue to ramp up with a variety of suspenseful crime dramas to keep Disney+ customers gripped this Spring. From Poland, “The Breslau Murders” (12 September) an eight-part series set in 1936 that sees controversial but effective police commissioner Franz Podolsky investigate a brutal murder, resulting in a dangerous game of cat and mouse with the murderer. From France, “Lost Station Girls” (coming October) follows an extraordinary investigation spanning more than twenty years in the South of France, when a teenage girl goes missing and three young women are found murdered near the train station in Perpignan. Fans of Nordic crime dramas can expect a dark, visually striking series in “To Cook A Bear” (15 October) from Sweden, based on the best-selling 2017 book from author Mikael Niemis, starring Gustaf Skarsgård. 

From crime to comedy-drama, “Call My Agent Berlin” (from 12 September), the German series adaptation following the successful French series Call My Agent, where the agents of the Stern actor’s agency fight for their future. From Spain, “Fate” (8 October), an eccentric six-part comedy series from filmmaker Paco Plaza, about a unique friendship with the world of bullfighting as a backdrop. 

Korean Original series, “Tempest”, which will be launching exclusively on Disney+ worldwide on 10 September, features one of the most impressive international line-ups in a Korean drama to date. This spy thriller follows Seo Munju, a skilled former diplomat, as she tries to uncover the truth behind an attempt on a presidential candidate’s life. 

GENERAL ENTERTAINMENT

Disney+’s unmatched general entertainment offering continues to grow this spring, with the addition of many highly anticipated titles. Highlights include the gripping legal drama from Ryan Murphy, “All’s Fair” (November 2025), starring Kim Kardashian, Naomi Watts, Niecy Nash-Betts, Teyana Taylor, Matthew Noszka, Sarah Paulson and Glenn Close; “Chad Powers” (30 September), a new Original comedy series starring Glen Powell, which tells the story of former hotshot quarterback Russ Holliday, as he tries to resurrect his dreams by disguising himself as talented oddball Chad Powers, and “Murdaugh: Death in the Family” (15 October), inspired by the popular Murdaugh Murders Podcast.

Jonas Brothers fans can also look forward to “A Very Jonas Christmas Movie” (14 November) a comedy from 20thTelevision and Disney Branded Television, which sees Kevin Jonas, Joe Jonas and Nick Jonas face a series of escalating obstacles as they struggle to make it from London to New York in time to spend Christmas with their families. 

Joining the spring slate are many fan-favourite series, including the second season of “Percy Jackson and The Olympians” (10 December), season 13 of animated science fiction sitcom, “Futurama” (16 September), the return of Original crime drama, “High Potential” (17 September), as well as the third season of “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” (13 November).

Arriving this spring on Disney+ is “LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy – Pieces of the Past” (19 September), which continues the story that began in 2024 with “LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy.” A new threat rises in the galaxy, and Sig and Dev Greebling must combine their powers of Force Building and Sith Breaking to stop it. Alongside Jedi Bob, Yesi Scala, and Servo, they will journey into the deepest corners of LEGO® Star Wars lore, uncovering pieces of all the galaxies that have come before. Returning voice cast includes Gaten Matarazzo as Sig Greebling, Tony Revolori as Dev Greebling, Bobby Moynihan as Jedi Bob, Marsai Martin as Yesi Scala, Michael Cusack as Servo, Billy Dee Williams as Landolorian, Ahmed Best as Darth Jar Jar, Anthony Daniels as C-3PO, Sam Witwer as Maul, Helen Sadler as Darth Rey, Phil LaMarr as Darth Kit Fisto, Matthew Wood as General Grievous, Jake Green as Greedo, Shelby Young as Princess Leia, Piotr Michael as Yoda, Matt Sloan as Jedi Vader, Trevor Devall as Jedi Master Sheev, Dee Bradley Baker as Darth Nubs, Naomi Ackie as Jedi Jannah, Kevin Michael Richardson as Jedi Jabba the Hutt, Kelly Marie Tran as Darth Rose Tico, and a special guest appearance by Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker. DISNEY & PIXAR 

“Elio” (coming soon), the latest chapter in Disney and Pixar’s storytelling legacy, follows Elio, a space fanatic with an active imagine, who finds himself on a cosmic misadventure where he must form new bonds with eccentric alien lifeforms, navigate a crisis of intergalactic proportions and somehow discover who he is truly meant to be.

20TH CENTURY STUDIOS

Inspired by the provocative real-life story of the visionary founder of online dating platform Bumble, 20th Century Studios’ new feature film “Swiped” (19 September) introduces recent college grad Whitney Wolfe (Lily James) as she uses extraordinary grit and ingenuity to break into the male-dominated tech industry, launch an innovative, globally lauded dating app—two, actually, and pave the way to becoming the youngest female self-made billionaire. The film also stars Ben Schnetzer, Myha’la, Jackson White, Dan Stevens, Ian Colleti, Mary Neely, Ana Yi Puig, Aidan Laprete, Pedro Correa, Coral Peña and Pierson Fode. Directed by Rachel Lee Goldenberg from a script by Goldenberg, Bill Parker and Kim Caramele, the film is produced by James and producer duo Jennifer Gibgot and Andrew Panay via their Ethea Entertainment.
