Theatre on the Square proudly announces its first musical for 2026 – Amy Winehouse – the Diva and her Demons. The celebratory tribute show, revisits the story of Amy Winehouse and stars multi award-winning actress and singer, KERRY HILES (remembered for her Judy Garland show A STAR IS BORN).
The production showcases Amy’s story with warmth and humour, encapsulating the heartbreak and haunting brilliance that defined a once-in-a-generation artist. This intimate acoustic journey celebrates the voice, the vulnerability and the legacy of a woman who changed the course of music.
Just 27 years old. Just 2 albums. Nominated for 60 awards.
The music behind the mayhem is unstoppable.
Rebellious, adamant, gifted, Amy Winehouse was, first and foremost, a jazz singer. This often gets lost within the scope of her enormous pop stardom, her tempestuous love life and substance-abuse problems. If we really want to understand how Amy Winehouse died, we need to look at how she lived…
“AMY WINEHOUSE – THE DIVA AND HER DEMONS unpacks the brief and impactful life of this unique talent who captured the imagination of both the mainstream pop charts and the lovers of timeless soul music of yesteryear. This award-winning cautionary tale/tribute show features 12 of Amy’s hits acoustically interpreted for a live trio.
