Eastgate Shopping Centre is giving young film lovers reason to celebrate the launch of the highly-anticipated live action How to Train Your Dragon movie with a themed activation this Youth Day weekend.

Running daily from Saturday 14 June to Monday 16 June,  from 9 AM – 6 PM, an immersive How to Train Your Dragon experience will take place in the centre court outside Woolworths and is set to delight fans of the popular franchise that has captured the imagination of audiences around the world.

The experience invites young fans to step into the world of Berk and enjoy a series of interactive, film-inspired activities. Children will be able to participate in a series of Viking-themed games, a themed photobooth and immersive activities, including the “fly like a Viking dragon rider” virtual reality experience. As part of the fun, they’ll also get to write their name in runes on a postcard from Berk.

In line with Eastgate’s ongoing focus on delivering engaging experiences for its youthful audience, the activation ties in with the cinema release of How to Train Your Dragon, launching at Ster-Kinekor IMAX at Eastgate on Friday 13 June. The games and activities are free of charge. The area will be supervised but all participating children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
