Fans were treated to an unforgettable cinematic experience last night at Eastgate Shopping Mall at the special event screening of Marvel Studios’ “The Fantastic Four: First Steps”, ahead of the film’s release on July 25, 2025.

The energy at the screening was electric as some of South Africa’s top celebrities, influencers, fans, and film lovers gathered to celebrate Marvel Studios’ latest big-screen adventure. Notable guests included Cindy Thando, Robot Boii, Leagen Wayans, Thandile_Ndile, Chad Jones, Peachy Sprinkles, Thulane Shange, Buntu “Dippy” Padi, Jerome Du Plooy, and Luthando “BU” Mthembu. Guests walked the custom blue carpet, posed for photos, and lit up social media with their excitement and early reactions to the film. 

The event embraced the film’s retro 60s aesthetic with a full-on themed celebration complete with a live swing band, vintage décor, and an old-school milkshake bar that added a fun, nostalgic twist to the night.

Set in a vibrant 1960s-inspired world, “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” introduces Marvel’s iconic team—Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Ben Grimm/The Thing, and Johnny Storm/Human Torch—as they face their most personal and planet-threatening mission yet.

With Earth in the path of cosmic destruction from the mighty Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his mysterious Herald, the Silver Surfer (Julia Garner), the team must unite like never before to defend the planet.Directed by Matt Shakman and produced by Kevin Feige, the film also stars Natasha Lyonne, Paul Walter Hauser, Sarah Niles, and Mark Gatiss.
