Prime brings a mixed-genre programme with the best local up-and-coming acts to Cape Town and Johannesburg on 30 and 31 October.
A comic-book character, a favourite music-video look or a reference only the group chat understands: this Halloween, the outfit is part of the plan. Prime brings its music and style community together at Club Paradise in Cape Town on Friday, 30 October, and Residency in Johannesburg on Saturday, 31 October, for two nights that invite guests to turn pop culture into personal style.
The invitation starts with the event artwork, which draws on film and music references, including Alien and Spider-Man. Guests are encouraged to dress up, whether that means recreating a familiar character, revisiting a favourite era or putting together an original look with friends.
That connection between sound and style runs through Prime’s programming. Previous editions have taken inspiration from Y2K, Euphoria and Nicki Minaj, creating a shared starting point that guests can interpret in their own way. Halloween opens that invitation wider, with room for different characters, references and ideas on the same dancefloor.
Both nights will feature a mixed-genre programme with the best local up-and-coming acts. Prime’s instruction for the weekend is direct: “No aura farming – please dress up and have fun.”
The Halloween editions follow Prime’s Ed Hardy activation at Studio88 Sandton City on Saturday, 24 October. The in-store collaboration brought Prime’s interest in music and personal style into a retail setting ahead of this weekend’s events.
Advance tickets for both Halloween editions are listed from R100 on Quicket. Both events are strictly 18+.
