BOMBAY SAPPHIRE STIRS CREATIVE SPIRIT OF SOUTH AFRICA

by

Bombay Sapphire believes that everyone has the ability to unlock their full creative potential. The premium gin brand is set to stir up our expectations of where creativity begins and ends for South Africans within their own #StirCreativity universe.

Everyone is invited to channel their inner artist by combining art and mixology when Bombay Sapphire launches ‘STIR CREATIVITY’, the brand’s global campaign, which launches in Johannesburg today. Following successful launches in cities including Milan, Paris and Berlin, the city of gold is next in line to experience how an expertly crafted cocktail can be as stimulating as a visceral painting. The South African leg of the brand’s global creative takeover is in collaboration with renowned South African fashion designer, Laduma Ngxokolo.

Ngxokolo, who is globally recognised for his distinctive knitwear that demonstrates and celebrates his pride in Xhosa culture, has received numerous global accolades. “I am honoured to have been chosen by Bombay Sapphire as a representative of creativity in South Africa,” he said.

Bombay Sapphire will kick off with 2 launch events. One in JHB and another in CPT, where guests will be encouraged to create works of art by painting on blank canvases, which have been created in collaboration with Laduma. They will also be encouraged to create their own cocktails using Bombay Sapphire gin, edible paint, fresh botanicals and Fever Tree tonic water.  This concept is underpinned by the notion that given the opportunity to let your imagination run wild – you can create a gin cocktail experience tailored to your own unique preference of colours and flavours.

Francois Portier, Area Director for Bacardi brands in Sub Saharan Africa, including Bombay Sapphire, said, “Because gin drinkers are naturally inclined towards creativity, Bombay Sapphire is giving guests the chance to experiment with their favourite gin in a creative way and come up with something inspirational and delightful in the process.”

While guests indulge in creative gin cocktail making, the launch events will also give them the ability to physically transform blank spaces into living works of art inspired by the versatile personality of Bombay Sapphire’s beautiful liquid.

Asked what South Africans can expect from this partnership with Bombay Sapphire, Ngxokolo expressed excitedly that “I am looking forward to seeing how our South African audiences will engage with the many surprises we have in store for them in the next 12 months in terms of creative collaborations, online activations, in trade campaigns, limited edition packs and so much more.
