Live life in the fast lane, put your pedal to the metal and accelerate down to the BET Experience Africa to enjoy the thrills and spills of the BET Drift Zone, BET’s thrilling motortainment experience based around the high octane sport of drift motor racing (Ticketpro Dome, 12 December).

BET has teamed up with adrenalin junkies XS Promotions to create the ultimate experience for petrol heads and car aficionados, as top motorsport drivers get behind the wheel to demonstrate their skill and daring in “drifting” – one of the fastest growing extreme sports in the world. “Drifting” involves the driver spinning, skidding and manoeuvring his vehicle at high speed – an art that requires powerhouse racing skills, nerves of steel, and instinctive coordination between man and machine.

Four pimped-up Chevrolet Speed & Sound Lumina Drift cars and four motor racing fanatics in the shape of Jason Webb (current 2015 SA drift champion), Jim McFarlane and Mikey Skelton form the backbone of the Drift Zone, as the drivers confound, amaze and entertain with their gravity defying stunts. And if you’re feeling really adventurous, why not take a ride in the passenger seat go yourself, as a passenger in one of the cars (R150 per person).

Commented Jim McFarlane, Director, XS Promotions, “We are very excited to be part of the BET Experience Africa this year, and with such a diverse offering of amazing entertainment, we look forward to showcasing some of the best Drifters in South Africa, and being able to take people on what will be the ride of their lives in our purpose built drift cars.
