MAYBELLINE NEW YORK SIGNS TANZANIAN, HERIETH PAUL, AS NEW SPOKESMODEL

Maybelline New York announced a few weeks back that Herieth Paul, the striking Tanzanian fashion model, has signed on to be the newest face of the brand. Herieth joins a roster of prominent spokeswomen including Christy Turlington, Adriana Lima, Cris Urena, Emily DiDonato, Kemp Muhl, Gigi Hadid and Jourdan Dunn.

Herieth was born and raised in Dar es Salaam, the largest city of Tanzania with her younger sister Happiness and raised there until moving to Ottawa, Canada at the age of 14. She is the daughter of a diplomat and once had similar aspirations before being scouted at 16 years old.

After being signed to Women Management in June 2010, Herieth’s career took off. She has appeared in numerous global editions of Vogue, including US, Italia, Germany and Japan. She has also been featured in the pages of Teen Vogue, i-D, Dazed + Confused, LOVE, Elle, Allure, Glamour and Le Monde (among other publications). Herieth has posed for top photographers including Steven Meisel, David Sims, Nick Knight, Patrick Demarchelier, Solve Sundsbo, Ryan McGinley, Josh Olins, Daniel Jackson, Ben Hassett, Giampaolo Sgura, Richard Burbridge, and Ellen von Unwerth. She has walked the runways for designers Proenza Schouler, Stella McCartney, Balmain, Tom Ford, Ralph Lauren, Burberry, Rag & Bone, Rodarte, Giles Deacon, Rick Owens, Carolina Herrera, Philip Lim, DKNY and Derek Lam. In addition, she has been the face of a variety of advertising campaigns including Tom Ford, Polo Ralph Lauren, cK One, The Gap, Diesel, Edun, and Rodarte.
