Trevor Noah is celebrating the first anniversary of his tenure at Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show with Trevor Noah” with new US audience data revealing the success of the franchise under his stewardship.

During the third quarter of 2016, “The Daily Show with Trevor Noah” reached a weekly, multiplatform audience of nearly 8 million viewers. The series has now approached nearly 1 billion video views since its premiere in September 2015, including over 100 million full episode streams.

“The Daily Show” also continued its dominant position among Comedy Central US’s core, millennial audience, extending its streak as the most-watched daily late night talk show among millennial men to four consecutive quarters in the key demos during quarter 3, 2016. The series also finished #2 among all adults 18-24 and adults 18-34, and passed “Jimmy Kimmel Live” during the quarter to finish #3 among adults 18-49.

As the only millennial host in late night, the audience for “The Daily Show” is expanding to better represent Noah’s generation, broadening its multicultural base of viewers who made up 25 percent of the adult 18-34 demographic and 20 percent of the adult 18-49 demographic, with increases in delivery of nearly +27 percent and +17 percent, respectively, vs. the same time period last year with host Jon Stewart. While becoming younger and more diverse, the adult 18-49 composition of the audience for “The Daily Show with Trevor Noah” remains the most-upscale and educated of all the late night talk shows, posting a median household income of USD $85.8K.

In addition to forming a strong linear base, fans of the “Daily Show” are consuming the show in greater numbers across digital and social platforms with more than one-third of consumption coming from digital platforms vs. 16 percent for “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.” Over the course of quarter 3, 2016, “The Daily Show with Trevor Noah” reached a weekly, multiplatform audience of 7.7 million viewers across linear, video-on-demand, digital and mobile platforms. Since its premiere, multiplatform streams are up +57 percent for Noah’s “Daily Show” versus the comparable time period in 2014-2015, with over 917 million digital streams, driven by massive increases across Facebook (+255%) and YouTube (+185%).
