PREPARE FOR A SOPHISTICATED SUMMER WITH TREAD+MILLER

by

Just over a year ago, the first Tread+Miller store opened, establishing a destination footwear store for South African men who appreciate quality, craftsmanship and authentic design.

By combining these attributes withcontemporary footwear and up-to-date styling,Tread+Miller has stepped into a void in the market: the 21ststore is set to open in Menlyn, Pretoria, in November.

Tread+Milleris taking summer footwearup a stylish notch this summer with classic styles–think monk straps and Oxfords –clean lines and striking details. Added to this is a good helping of sophisticated on-duty men’s footwear and ladies’ summer shoes and sandals.

Key men’s SS16/17 styles“The essentialstyles for the season areperhaps more formal than you’d expect for summer, but if your taste runs to a more elegant look, they are the perfect shoes to wear with a suit or jeans,”says Tread+Miller’s footwear buyer.

On the more informal side, Tread+Miller has ‘Edgar’ and ‘Silas’, Arthur Jack’s double-strap and single-strap monk shoes. Both styles will meet the dress code at a casual business meeting, or event, when paired with lightweight summer trousers.Arthur Jack’s‘Atticus’is a sophisticated, trans-seasonal men’s shoe and sportsuppers that are cut from a single piece of leather.

The absence of stitching on the uppers makesfor a smooth, elegant look, which is enhanced by the closed lacing system. One-piece shoes, also known as whole-cut shoes, are extremely comfortable too, as the leather follows the shape of the foot. At the relaxed end of the style spectrum (because this is South Africa and summer is made for kicking back), there areleather thongs and slip-ons,as well as boat shoes and sneakers too.
The women’s SS16/17 range“Almost all the styles in our summer range are new. Naturally the focus is on sandals, but there are a few shoes that defy seasons and trends, such as biker boots and brogues, too,”saysTread+Miller’s footwear buyer.

Espadrilles, the comeback style of the season, will be available in store and online from December,as well as Tread+Miller’s full range of flats, wedges, block heels andon-trend gladiator sandals.AccessoriesArthur Jack’s leather Madrid roller bag is designed to handle easily (thanks to a pull-out handle and castors), pack everything you need for a mini-break and complete the quintessential weekend look. Equally eye-catching and practical are the Paris satchel bag, Milan messenger bag and Arthur Jack’s Pioneer everyday backpack.

Smaller items include leather wallets, belts, Tread+Miller’s range of socks and Simon & Mary bowler and Mountie hats that are available in grey, olive green and burgundy.

Any one of these will make a welcome Christmas gift –and if he really has everything, Tread + Miller offers gift vouchers to any value. Left it very late?
