SERIES 4 OF BEING MARY JANE MONDAY 23 JANUARY AT 21:30 CAT

Gabrielle Union returns to BET as feisty news anchor Mary Jane Paul in what promises to be an explosive Season 4 of the breakout drama hit, Being Mary Jane next week.

The new season of Being Mary Jane premieres on BET (DStv channel 129) on Monday 23 January at 21:30 CAT.

Last series, Mary Jane kept us on the edge of our seats after surviving a car accident, losing her friend Lisa, watching her interracial love affair fall apart and coming to terms with a brutal police attack on her niece. In the new series, as she tries to navigate singlehood and put her past behind her, Mary Jane resolves to take a bite out of the “Big Apple” and make it to the anchor chair on Good Day USA, the top-rated New York morning show where she now works as a correspondent. Starting over isn’t easy and Mary Jane struggles to climb the ladder, grappling with some of life’s toughest issues – all while trying to keep her relationships (both work and personal) intact.

Being Mary Jane is a game-changing smash hit drama that has been hailed as “spicy and explosive” by Essence Magazine and given an “A-“ by Entertainment Weekly. The third season earned a 2016 NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Writing in A Drama Series, and Gabrielle Union’s critically acclaimed performance has shattered the Internet with non-stop chatter about Mary Jane’s unbreakable spirit in the face of tragedy, extortion and relationship drama.

Gabrielle Union been sprinkling her own brand of magic on Being Mary Jane since the series made its TV debut in 2013; according to a report in entertainment industry trade bible Hollywood Reporter the third season of the show ranks as the No.1 cable series among black viewers in the USA between the ages of 18-49.

See what life and love have in store for Mary Jane in the tantalizing new season of Being Mary Jane.
