KENZHERO, KID FONQUE & MARIA McCLOY PRESENT TONGHT FT ZIYON LIVE
SATURDAY, 22 APRIL AT AND, 39 GWI GWI MRWEBI STREET, NEWTOWN, 9PM

It’s time for the second edition of TONGHT brought to you by party promoters Kenzhero, Kid Fonque and Maria McCloy at Club And in Newtown Johannesburg on 22 April. Ziyon will be gracing the stage with his fresh new tracks and impressive live act. Kenzhero and Kid Fonque will be serving the grown and sexy crowd an eclectic mix of sounds.

Ziyon, best known as lead singer in hit creating, award-winning group Liquideep, but now on a solo tip, will headline the second installation of this party series curated by acclaimed DJs, radio personalities and party promoters, Kenzhero and Kid Fonque, who have joined forces with urban culture specialist, publicist and designer, Maria McCloy. This party will take place at And in Newtown four more times in 2017.

“I’m looking forward to the TONGHT performance for the vibe,” Ziyon says. “We need more spaces where artistic expression is championed. A place where all types of music can be played. A place where artists can intimately engage with their audience. This is the type of platform I’ve been looking for.” He adds: “Whether you have followed me or whether this will be your first time experiencing my music, with this show, you can expect a stripped down, electronic presentation of the songs I’ve had the pleasure of creating. Past present and future.”

Ziyon’s first solo album Audio Alchemy was released in 2014. Following that was his self-titled E.P. that was released in 2015. “This past March I had the pleasure of releasing a new single entitled “For Good” as a free download for my fans http://goo.gl/1cqUsW. Lately, I have been crafting songs, compiling music for an E.P. I would like to release in winter.”
Judging by the first TONGHT (pronounced Tonight) on 4 February, the good times are set to roll again on 22 April. “That was such a success, people loved the music and the atmosphere. I’m so looking forward to playing at the party in April,” says Kenzhero. “People liked that the party felt like something different on the Joburg scene, they dug coming to an unfamiliar venue and even the fact that no phone photos are allowed on the dance floor,” laughs Kid Fonque, the host of Sunday night’s 5FM show Selective Styles. Says Maria: “They loved the fact that the crowd was aged between 28 and 40, that there was a great vibe and a live act was a treat.”
