In keeping with what’s hot this season, Old Khaki has infused their spring/summer 2018 collection with the heart and soulof a sultry, hot tropical summer in old Cuba,reflecting the “buena vista”to be found inbrightly painted facadesandvintage cars parked on cobbled streets that echo withthe sounds of a fiesta.
Nowhere is this more evident than in their take ontheiconic Havana shirtwith palm-tree prints and thearray of embroidered off-the-shoulder summer dresses made for dressing up, or down.
The collection is launched witha vintage-inspired, washed-outpalette of summer pastels before progressing to a high summer palette of bold magenta, orange and tropical colours.

Thissummer’s colours includemillennial pink, summer berries, yellows,olivegreen and shades with a dark baseaccentuated byvibrant prints.
Think vivid floral or jungle prints on a dark base with contrasting white tops. New tothewomen’sdenimrangearetrucker jacketsand shorts in a choice of three lengths, idealfor matching with one of the newlightweight knitsandwoven tops that, too,areeither printed orembroidered. The improvedfabricsand fitsgivetheir newdenima casual but de-luxe look.
This feminine, playful attention to detailis carried through in theraffia pompoms ontheirsun hats and the tasselledaccessories and scarves. For the first time, Old Khaki isoffering women a choice betweensun hats and caps with floral detailing.

The Cuban theme is present in the menswear range,too,that makesuse ofgraphicand tropicalprints. Key to the rangearecolour combinationsthat pair millennial pink and summer berries with olivegreenand charcoal, oryellow with navy and olive.
“These fresh new colours are used throughoutour range, from our signature check shirts and golferstoprinted T-shirts and shorts,” says Amy Hope-Sotherton, Old Khaki’s menswear buyer. “It’s definitely the season ofprintsmadenew with a variety of micro prints coming through tocreatethe illusion of a textured fabric, rather than a specific print,especially on shorts.
Another importanttrend is dark floral/tropical prints, whichwe incorporated on shirts, T-shirts and shorts.Cotton, linen dominateacross categories, some with extra stretch to ensure a cool, stressfreesummer.”The Old Khaki mancanalsolook forward to pigment-dyed, acid-washed and stone-washedbrandedT-shirts and awide range of utility and chino shorts.The men’s denim range features four stylesof jeans, all withimproved fit.
The Joel skinny, Nash tapered, Mayson narrowstraight and Jordy regularstraightare all availablein a range ofvintage washes.
