The countdown has begun for the 2nd annual Live Loud Mid-Year Break at Sun City Resort in the North West Province. The station heads to the province for a weekend of great live entertainment, DJ sets and more at one of the country’s most entertaining resorts, Sun City. From Friday, 13 – Sunday, 15 July, party-goers will be treated to a concert at the Superbowl headlined by award-winning MiCasa. Durban duo, award-winning Distruction Boyz joins the line-up along with fellow Durban band Easy Freak.
The weekend kicks off with a party at The Shebeen at 8pm, powered by the 5FM Weekender5 Ryan the DJ, Ms Cosmo, DJ Loyd and Kid Fonque on Friday night.
5FM and Nedbank’s Ke Yona Team Search will conduct a soccer clinic on Saturday from 9am – 3pm as part of the station’s CSi arm Youngblood5. One hundred kids, aged 13 – 19 from in and around the area will be invited to the Sun City soccer fields for the clinic.
The soccer clinic will be hosted by former Bafana Bafana legend Mark Williams, SuperSport United player Aubrey Modiba and Nedbank Ke Yona strength and conditioning coach Percy Moloi. All the kids attending the soccer clinic will be treated to the concert at the Superbowl later that night.
In conjunction with the soccer clinic, the station will also host a DJ seminar at the cinema at the Sun City Entertainment Centre on Saturday from 12pm – 2pm. 5FM DJs Roger Goode, Loyd, Das Kapital, Ryan the DJ and Nicole da Silva will chat to youth on what it takes to be a DJ while sharing on technical know-how and life lessons. Entrance to the DJ seminar is free.
Live Loud at the Superbowl is the main event of the weekend and takes place on Saturday night from 8pm where 5FM newbie presenter Smash Afrika acts as our host and Roger Goode, Rob Forbes, Fix and Nick Hamman warm up the decks.
We keep the party going with an afterparty at club Encore, Live Loud 2.0 with Kid Fonque, Thando Thabethe, Ms Cosmo, Ryan the DJ and DJ Loyd all playing DJ sets from 12am.
Enjoy sundowners at The Valley of the Waves on Sunday from 12pm with Kyle Cassim, Das Kapital, Msizi James, Nicole Da Silva, Nick Hamman and Roger Goode.
