#NICCISTREETSTYLE SPRING OFFERING GOES STREET

by

A seasonal soirée at Hyde Park Corner, where fashionistas look forward to the latest trends in fashion, beauty, food, fragrance and so much more; the #NicciStreetStyle launch saw guests stepping into Spring with the latest offerings from Nicci Boutique for Spring/Summer 18/19.

The sorbet colour palette looks good enough to eat and is reminiscent of indulgent scoops of ice cream. These perfect pastels can be paired together or worn alone, complimented with this season’s trendiest nudes in linen, cotton and almost anything organic.

The crayola colours are for the bold, and are layered in trios, but for those who’d like to introduce the bright element to their wardrobe in a more understated fashion, a selection of stylish scarves and accessories will serve the purpose.

Dedicated to denim done differently, Nicci Boutique is synonymous with a signature style of harem denims, with a capsule collection that is funky, fashionable and easy-to-wear.
From a textile trend, over-dyed tees and raw cut edges are all the rage this season; with each piece improving over time. This trend really adds dimension to any outfit and gives the wearer texture in the colour alone.

This season at Nicci Boutique is all about having fun, and daring to dress yourself up or down with this season’s key essentials. With the primary colour du jour being yellow, you’ll want a key piece in this bold and bright pantone, and you are spoilt for choice at Nicci Boutique.

Hosted by Media Personality Taryn Louch, with DJ Kimmy K on the decks, the morning was a series of spoils with a selection of stations, and there was something for everyone to feast their senses upon.
Spoilt for choice with Nicci Boutique’s ageless design, there was also pampering from head to toe, thanks to the Sorbet Hyde Park offering manicures in this season’s latest shades as well as Dermalogica offering complimentary skin mapping. For the fragrance fanatics, they were treated to this season’s freshest scent with the new Jimmy Choo Fever fragrance.

For those looking to get their glam on, our favourite #toolforchange Glampalm, together with Hair Artist Fatima Ally Mahmood, were making waves with coveted curls at the Glampalm station. For those looking to fresh up their face, GOSH Cosmetics treated guests to touch-ups, after they sipped on artisanal roasted coffee from Manaka Coffee or toasted with a glass of bubbles by Spirits and Bubbles.

For those already working on their Summer bodies, Impressed Juice Bar supplied freshly pressed juices, while those looking to indulge treated themselves to ice cream macaroons by The Patisserie by Shazmin.

As always, the golden goodie bags were packed to the brim with a selection of spoils from Dermalogica, Sorbet, GOSH Cosmetics, Jimmy Choo, Five Roses, Freshpak, Cadburys, Carlton Hair and Medi-Sculpt.

We spotted fashion-forward Tshepi Vundla, Cara Frew, Gina Myers, Ryan Hignett, Ayanda Nhlapo, Iman Mkwanazi, Luthando “Lootlove” Shosha, Siyamthanda Ndube, Jay Anstey, Mpumi Shandu, Melanie Ramjee, Bryoni Govender, Kevin McLennan and 5fm’s Nicole Da Silva shopping up a storm to ensure they are ready to step into Spring in style.

With their seasonal shopping done, VIP guests headed to the Southern Sun Hyde Park Hotel deck to soak up the sunshine with cocktails in hand, before heading to an exclusive Tasting Tsogo Luncheon at Luce, hosted by Chef Grant van der Riet, Executive Chef of Southern Sun Hyde Park. His culinary philosophy is ‘life is too short for a bad meal,” and he pulled out all the stops with his Italian inspired family style fare. He says, “it’s the originality of Italian cuisine that is so appealing. The country style cooking, and the breads – their flavour and texture. They’re not easy to get right, but the simplicity of a meal of fresh baked bread, a dip and wine is perfection.”

He started guests off with a variety of homemade artisanal bread with babaganoush, hummus and rocher of butter, underneath mushroom dust soil; before serving starters of Fritti Misto, Prosciutto Di Parma E Melone and Insalata Tricolore, comprising of marinated tomatoes served with freshly sliced avocado, burrata cheese and baby spinach, drizzled with extra virgin olive oil

The main course was a feast for the eyes and pleasure for the palate with family style sharing of decadent pastas including a rich Oxtail Pappardelle, indulgent Tortellini Di Aragosta In Crema Di Champagne Ai Funghi and a fragrant Tre Ravioli Al Formaggio E Alle Erbe In Salsa Cremosa Alla Napoletana. For those with a penchant for meat, the Anatra Al Caffè confit duck leg served with a homemade egg ravioli and the lemon, thyme and chili roasted baby chicken really hit the spot.

Ending the afternoon off on a sweet note, guests were treated to a dark chocolate and passion fruit tart, pistachio and matcha panna cotta and mango sorbet, with three lucky winners walking away with a champagne breakfast and dinner for two at Southern Sun Hotel Hyde Park, as well as a Glampalm #toolforchange, a stay for two at the Southern Sun Hotel Hyde Park and a Nicci Boutique voucher valued at R3 000.
