Beautifying for women began over 7000 years ago and has evolved into a multi-billion Dollar industry. Nail and beauty salons are in high demand as an everyday necessity and there are no signs of this industry slowing down, so when Dany Gharzo established her passion, The Treat, in 2003 she knew her hard work would contribute to this blooming growth.

The Treat, nail & beauty salon, first opened its doors at what was then known as the Waterfront, in Randburg, Johannesburg. Originally a one woman show, with Dany doing nails in a tiny cordoned off space amongst other market vendors, The Treatmoved to China Discount Shopping Centre in Randburg & grew from one shop space expanding into three. The growth has been phenomenal & new stores have now opened in and around Johannesburg, including stores in Midrand, Soweto, Boksburg, Rivonia, Centurion & several other locations. With the expansion of The Treat Dany has franchised the brand and has seen numerous success stories, making Dany one of South Africa’s most successful beauty entrepreneurs. Her first branch in Cape Town opens in 2020.

The beauty mogul has also developed her own cosmetics range trading as the ‘Dany Cosmetics’ brand which started with smudge and waterproof lipsticks and grew with such demand that she had lipstick vending machines installed within their bigger stores. Dany Cosmetics now has brushes, eyeshadow colour pallets and so much more to enjoy.

Services range from hair, hand and feet treatments to waxing and massage services. So, what’s the magic that keeps customers coming back again and again- you don’t need an appointment. In fact, the first come first serve’ mechanic, works perfectly for fixing that unwanted broken nail in between meetings or a spur of the moment much needed beauty treatment. The mechanic was put into play to allow customers the freedom of getting what they want, when they want it. With beauty and hair technicians that provide the perfect look in record time, the assurance of great service, quickly, without the hassle of booking an appointment, is guaranteed.

Dany Gharzo, owner of The Treat says “I’m so proud of how the brand has grown from the small stall I had 16 years ago.  It’s such a blessing and I’m loving the business side of beauty”.
