Urban moyo invites you to experience a fresh and vibrant take on live-fire cooking. Fire lies at the heart of African tradition, bringing us together and igniting the shared experience.

Routed in Africa, our menu showcases a multicultural melting pot of flavours, both bold and refined. Our coals cultivate beautifully slow-cooked tagines and potjies, a curated selection of the finest meat, venison, chicken and seafood, as well as an assortment of bountiful platters, vibrant salads and contemporary sharing plates.

Each dish is meticulously crafted using only the freshest ingredients moulded into a sensory feast. Flavours stay true to the continent, with the majority of our dishes prepared on an open flame.

Urban moyo caters to a wide range of tastes, ensuring vegetarians and vegans are equally delighted by our selection of intricate and tantalising plant-based dishes.

The restaurant showcases the finest in contemporary interiors with a plush feature bar and lounge area, perfect for evening cocktails and pre-dinner drinks. The main seating area sees leather, marble and wood coming together to create a setting that exudes both comfort and sophistication.

The wine list is concise, elegant and well-priced. Harnessing the spirit of Ubuntu, Urban Moyo has set out to celebrate diversity and synergy by only offering blended wines. You’ll find a selection of boutique wines from smaller vineyards as well easy-drinking Leopard’s Leap resident wines by the glass and by the bottle.

Our signature cocktails offer an opulent take on South Africa’s nine provinces. Using premium spirits brought to life by local juices, fruits, teas and syrups and served in unique and sumptuous glassware, each cocktail is a celebratory experience.

Located at 24 Central, Urban moyo is conveniently situated for lunch and dinner in the heart of the Sandton CBD. We also offer a canape and range of set menus for those looking to book an Urban event experience.

Whatever your occasion, Urban moyo invites you to gather and celebrate around our fire.
