5FM CELEBRATING THEIR BIRTHDAY WITH 2 BIG PARTIES

5FM celebrates another year of living loud as the station turns a year older on Sunday,  13 October. There are several parties this month commemorating the stations’ birthday, but the official parties take place on Friday, 11 October in Cape Town at Shimmy Beach Club and Saturday, 12 October at Val Bonne Country Estate, Johannesburg.

5FM has partnered with Connect Entertainment’s The Social to host both these birthday events and promises an electric line-up of 5FM DJs, local talent and German guest DJ Tujamo

On 11 October, the station kicks off the celebration at Cape Towns’ premiere beach venue, Shimmy Beach Club for the first party featuring DJ Tujamo on the decks. He will be accompanied by 5FM DJs Kyle CassimDJ Loyd and Msizi James.

On 12 October the station takes over Val Bonne Country Estate in Modderfontein for the Johannesburg edition of 5FM’s Birthday Party which features rapper Nasty C alongside 5FM DJs Roger GoodeKyle CassimThando ThabetheMs Cosmo and Ryan the DJ. Party-goers can expect gourmet food stalls and pyrotechnics shows as well as incredible entertainment. General access tickets start from R160 with VIP (strictly no under 21) starting from R350 and includes a separate bar and viewing deck area. Tickets are available from connect.howler.co.za

For the second year running, 5FM is the official radio partner for Festival de Mexico on Saturday, 26 October at Montecasino. This year the event is hosting a Halloween Festival edition featuring 5FM DJs Kyle Cassim and Ryan the DJand bands Goodluck, Rubber Duc and Matthew Mole. Attendees can expect food vendors, various tequila brands and pinata showdowns and the  Tickets start from R120 for adults and from R60 for kids and available fromconnect.howler.co.za/events.

Capsule Fest, a street culture festival that showcases urban street culture elements, returns on 26 October. 5FM partners with the event – which takes place at Fox Junction in Newtown, Johannesburg – for a second year running. This event features a host of hip hop acts from Riky Rick and Nasty C to Nadia Nakai and Yanga Chief. 5FM will be hosting an activation space at the event where party-goers will be able to get tattooed or pierced by the team at Ink City Custom Tattoos.
