One of South Africa’s most popular retail and dining destinations, Nelson Mandela Square is giving Johannesburg patrons more to look forward to this Summer. Starting on the Valentines weekend, live musical performances by local artists will take place on the Square every Saturday from 6 – 8pm and every Sunday from 2 – 4 pm. A special performance by popular act Mi Casa is scheduled for Monday 14 February, from 6 – 8 pm, for those looking to enjoy an upbeat Valentines evening.

Featuring the likes of Garth Taylor, Boki Ntisime, Beyond Africa, Cathy Del Mei, Hayley C and other local artists, these live shows will entertain passers-by, and those dining at one of Nelson Mandela Square’s many sumptuous restaurants. Cilantro’s, The Bigmouth, Tashas, Hard Rock Café, Trumps Grill house, The Butcher Shop and Grill, Pappas as well as the recently opened Tang and The Raj and many others, provide culinary experiences to satisfy all tastes.

“We are thrilled that we are able to host so many local artists and support the entertainment industry which has been so impacted by the global pandemic” says Preston Gaddy, General Manager of Sandton City and Nelson Mandela Square. “Live music adds such a lively ambience during these warm Summer nights and is the perfect addition to a night of fine dining or while simply enjoying the splendour of the Square” he added.
