Following the announcement of what is slated to become South Africa’s only premium destination for sneaker culture, opening in Johannesburg, Sneaker District has officially appointed businesswoman and celebrated media personality Kim Jayde as the Head of Marketing for the company’s South Africa operations.

Founded in Abu Dhabi, but with a ubiquitous cultural presence that can be felt globally, Sneaker District is the quintessential sneaker enthusiast’s haven because of the plethora of sought-after brands, latest releases, and classic titles that the retailer carries. The in-store experience is also something of a visual spectacle for the hundreds and thousands of patrons from every corner of the world that it attracts annually.

“Taking the reigns as Head of Marketing for the Sneaker District in South Africa is an incredible opportunity, I am so excited to play a role in shaping the culture and creating the kind of space I wish existed in Joburg years ago,” – Kim Jayde

An award-winning content creator and producer, founder of multimedia agency KJ Productions and seasoned TV anchor, Kim Jayde’s decade-long corporate resumé and keen sense for business immediately made her a top candidate for the position.

But it was her natural passion for sneakers and incessant efforts to spotlight various elements of street culture in the past few years that ultimately clinched her the deal.

“I am grateful for the trust the company has placed in me and extremely excited for the opportunities this venture will create for the sneaker community here in SA, The Sneaker District store is going to be an incredible destination for sneaker heads, people that are fashion focused and for those invested in the street culture here in South Africa.” – Kim Jayde

The Sneaker District is earmarked to launch soon in Melrose Arch. Stay on the lookout for more exciting updates as the plans unfold.
