JLR DEPLOYS HOLIDAY HEROES TO ENSURE SAFETY OF CLIENTS OVER FESTIVE

JLR South Africa has announced the launch of its Holiday Heroes campaign, a unique set of services available to JLR clients to ensure their utmost safety and peace of mind this festive season, on the road or at home.

From 15 December 2023 to 17 January 2024, JLR will deploy a fleet of emergency response vehicles along major holiday routes in South Africa to aid clients who might find themselves in need of roadside assistance during their holiday travels.

The service can be requested at any time via JLR vehicles’ onboard eCall and bCall buttons activated via InControl (depending on vehicle specification). The service can also be accessed telephonically by calling 012 450 4000 for travellers within South Africa, or by dialling +27 11 991 8765 from any of the neighbouring countries.

To ensure optimum coverage at all hours, JLR has partnered with Europ Assist Roadside in delivering this amplified roadside assistance service.

Derrick Dearlove, Customer Experience Manager at JLR South Africa, says: “An unforeseen interruption such as a flat tyre or a mechanical problem can be a major inconvenience for holiday makers. The JLR Holiday Heroes campaign seeks to deliver the ultimate convenience and peace of mind to our clients, relieving them of any anxiety that might result from such incidents, and ensuring that they get to their destination with minimal delay.”

To ensure a seamless experience of the service, owners of vehicles with eCall and bCall functionality are encouraged to update their emergency contact and medical aid details with JLR.

In addition to roadside assistance, JLR clients – for a fee – can also have access to a Take Me Home service when needed. JLR clients can request a designated driver to chauffeur them home safely after a night out. “This comes with the added convenience of having your vehicle safely driven home for you,” adds Dearlove.

For further reassurance, a Security Assist service is also available to clients who might find themselves in need of assistance and protection in any unsafe situation, either at home or while out and about.

“The Security Assist service augments the Holiday Heroes campaign by providing JLR clients access to 24-hour response wherever they might need assistance,” says Dearlove.

“Apart from these, JLR runs a year-round driver training program at JLR EXPERIENCE Johannesburg to equip our clients with the technical skills they need to fully enjoy their Range Rover, Defender, Discovery or Jaguar, on- or off-road,” he concludes.
