Having officially launched earlier this year into market, the sexy HONOR 400 Lite brings a blend of innovative features and an oh so sleek design to the local smartphone market. I got my hands on one recently and quite excited to share my findings.
Firstly its sleek, very lightweight and fits perfectly into my hand… I like. The phone comes in three colours: Marrs Green, Velvet Grey, and Velvet Black. I got the Black one, oh so sexy.
Introducing her to my family at the dinner table this past weekend, the first thing they all said, is that they heard HONOR phones are known for taking the best pics. And with this baby positioning itself as a best choice for advanced photography and productivity capabilities, a vibrant display and smart innovative AI-driven features without the exorbitant price tag, they were spot on. Obviously my teenager asked if he could get one.
For me, one of its standout features is its dedicated AI Camera Button, which is a first for Android smartphones. This button allows you to instantly launch the phone’s camera allowing you to take photos or record a videos with a single tap. Also gives the user quick access to Google Lens for tasks like object identification and text translation (a new fav of mine).
The AI Motion Sensing Capture gives you perfectly timed shots is another key dope HONOR 400 Lite feature. The moving photo and AI Portrait Retouching tools AI Eraser and AI Outpainting offers a smarter and effortless photography experience for a new user like myself.
But let’s rewind and talk about the picture quality for a minute.
The back camera offers wider & more depth dimension offering pro-level portrait capabilities and three distinct modes: Environmental, Classic, and Close-up. It truly captures everything in stunning detail, allowing you to personalise their shots with the various settings and moods. And it does end there cos the front camera is also fire. With a built-in front camera light, selfies are so much more bright and vibrant that I am accustomed to, offering balanced lighting giving it that filtered looking soft glow effect.
Honestly I am not sure which one is actually the main camera since both the back and front cameras deliver equally high quality pics.
The pre-installed Google Gemini was another big highlight for me. Being the super uber mom for my kids these days, this feature enhances multitasking with Google apps. Let’s just say the HONOR 400 is most definitely a female.
The real test for me though is the battery life and how long it lasts without needing a charge. Equipped with a 5230mAh battery and 35W HONOR SuperCharge, the HONOR 400 Lite enables a super quick recharge which allowed me to stay connected throughout the day, perfect for someone with an active lifestyle like me. I last charged her on Sunday morning before leaving for Father’s Day lunch and still sitting on 10% now. I really like.
Ok next lets discuss signal and all these failed calls. With its 5G connectivity I am always online, and more importantly, its super quick with internet searches. Even in the dodgy area’s in the north that I drive through, that loses signal always, I now stay connected now.
Memory next. With 256GB of storage and with HONOR RAM Turbo, its performance is super impressive. Downloading was quick and seamless as I have already downloaded over 6 000 photos from my google drive.
