This evening, celebrities, influencers and super fans celebrated the official South African Special Event Screening of Lucasfilm’s “Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu” hosted at Ster-Kinekor Cinemas, The Zone @ Rosebank.
Over 500 guests were were welcomed to an immersive, out-of-this-world experience, transforming the screening into a true celebration of the Star Wars universe. Guests arrived in galactic style, drawing inspiration from iconic characters across the franchise, while a series of themed activations brought fans closer to the world of bounty hunters, droids and Jedi. The evening featured dynamic live moments, including interactive activations and cinematic photo opportunities that transported guests into the epic world of Din Djarin and Grogu. The event was powered by Visa and Burger King.
Also, in attendance were some of South Africa’s most prominent influencers and personalities, including Judie Kama, Juicy Juicy J, Carpo More, Katlego Pilane, Koko Madlala, Prev Reddy, Ryan Smith, Didi Mothobi, Hlomani Nketane and Sam Wright, alongside a number of cosplayers highlighting the strong cultural impact and fandom surrounding Star Wars.
The Mandalorian and Grogu embark on their most thrilling mission yet in Lucasfilm’s “Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu,” an all-new Star Wars film opening exclusively in cinemas on 22 May 2026. The evil Empire has fallen, and Imperial warlords remain scattered throughout the galaxy. As the fledgling New Republic works to protect everything the Rebellion fought for, they have enlisted the help of legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and his young apprentice Grogu.
