TODAY marks the 63rd annual United Nations’ (UN) Universal Children’s Day. Universal Children’s Day was established in 1954 to raise awareness and draw attention to children’s rights and welfare. The JOHNSON’S® Baby Healthy Skin Project is celebrating this important day by supporting every child’s right to a healthy skin.

JOHNSON’S® Baby, through The JOHNSON’S® Baby Healthy Skin Project, has boldly expressed their premise of keeping babies’ welfare at the core of what they are aiming to achieve through the rollout of various activities. Mothers in rural areas are either unaware of the importance of maintaining healthy skin for their babies, or lack access to the required resources. The initiative, therefore, offers mothers in rural areas the opportunity to keep their babies’ skin healthy and ultimately ensure better overall health. “Universal Children’s Day is aimed at driving awareness of children’s issues.  Children are our future and their wellness should be a top priority for all and this is why Johnson & Johnson support so many programmes and organisations focused on caring for our children,” says Laura Nel, Communications Leader, Johnson & Johnson South Africa.

Knowing that babies are fully dependent on care-givers for the simplest things, JOHNSON’S® Baby considers every day as Universal Children’s Day. Multitudes of babies  are affected, and parents  are in desperate need of assistance to maintain the good health of their baby’s skin. The project serves as a stepping stone towards keeping moms and their babies happy and healthy, and to create awareness around the importance of baby skin health.
