The Big Feelings Special Show is aimed at helping viewers learn how to manage their emotions with the assistance of Takalani Sesame characters Elmo (3 1/2 years old), Zuzu (6 years old), and Zikwe (a taxi driver).

With South African families still dealing with the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, and now facing more challenges such as loadshedding and the ever rising cost of living, it’s understandable that many of us may be feeling overwhelmed by the Big Feelings that result from dealing with the pressures of everyday life.

“Children are especially vulnerable to these pressures, and this is why we’ve stepped in with a brand-new family special program that aims to help children understand why we sometimes feel the way we do and how we can cope with Big Feelings,” says Innocent Nkata, Managing Director of Sesame Workshop South Africa, the nonprofit organisation behind Takalani Sesame.
