Untitled

“In a country of so many competing interests and priorities, it is easy to rest on our laurels and forget that a lot still has to be done in order to ensure that little girls and women are allowed to thrive ” – DESTINY MAN Editor, Thabiso “TT” Tema

This August, DESTINY MAN plays its part in celebrating women by profiling the powerhouse executive assistants (EA’s) supporting the powerhouse CIO, CE and CEO’s. In a first of its kind, this Powerhouse feature focuses on women such as Portia Mtsweni, Verna Samson and Michele Stuurman who are the EA’s at Airports Company South Africa (ACSA), Standard Bank and Carol Boyes define what it means to be in roles that drive efficiency and results. In Analyse This and Exit Interview, women who are making a name for themselves in male-dominated industries such as politics and football are profiled.

Our cover story features media dynamo Bob van Dijk, CEO of the trillion-rand titan Naspers. It is not everyday that people are hand-picked to lead organisations by the likes of Koos Bekker, so this promises to be a read worth engaging with. In Man Fulfilling His Destiny, we feature another man unlike others – Kutlwano Masote – the groundbreaking musician and conductor who celebrates 10 years in the classical music industry and is renowned for the concerts him and his wife organize, such as the exclusive Pretty Yende concert held in April 2016. The Entrepreneur Report sponsored by IDC, will give you all the tools and tips to help you create your own success as a leader such as van Dijk and Masote.

This month, DESTINY MAN features an eclectic mix of young influencers who are living bold, distinguished lives. In Bold & Distinguished At Any Age we feature young influencers such as entrepreneur & model Maps Maponyane, rapper & producer Anatiii and TV presenter, Lunga Shabalala, who remind us of the role we all play in creating the future we want as they tell us why it’s important to vote on 3 August. The Style Spy feature features style influencer Siya Beyile who gives a candid interview about the success of his frequently referenced blog, The Threaded Man. In Sports, we give an in-depth look at what it takes to be world-class cricketeers like Temba Bavuma or Kagiso Rabada.
